Chiropractic Care for all ages and stages of a woman's life

The teenage years can be tumultuous.

Jam packed with sport, study and a constantly evolving social life can create  great memories and fun times, but also a lot of stress, both physically and emotionally. Chiropractic care can regulate your nervous system, ease discomfort from less than ideal study postures and help with sporting aches and pains. Many young women report an easing of period pains and relief from the associated back aches, headaches and nausea.

As women, our lives are busy!

Whether it is study, a career, family life or moving toward menopause we are giving our friends, family and the world 100% , often to the detriment of ourselves.

We know that women carry the mental and emotional  load of childcare, in relationships and likely at work too. The juggle of balancing everything creates a unique stress that is often so overlooked by society.

When you are ready to put yourself first for a change (its hard – I get it!) chiropractic can help.

From regulating your nervous system and managing stress, to easing our aches and pains (why do they increase each year??), chiropractic care can help you feel more comfortable, sleep better and be part of a plan to improve your health and make it a priority. Reach out and lets chat about how you can feel better.

Pregnancy and Postnatal Chiropractic

Greater comfort in pregnancy, preparation for birth and recovery afterwards.

Body Ready for Birth Program

As a Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner and  prenatal yoga teacher I have created a bespoke program called Body Ready for Birth for all my prenatal chiropractic clients from 20weeks. This is a series of stretches and yoga classes and videos on Optimal Foetal positioning. This will complement the chiropractic adjustments for better body and pelvic balancing. As a doula working in the birth space I know the importance of having baby in a great position for a more straight forward birth.

**** This can also be a stand alone visit for those who chose not to have chiropractic as part of their birth preparation.

Prenatal chiropractic

There’s a new life growing inside you. It’s the most amazing, wonderful, awe-inspiring time of life.

But it’s not all glowing. Pregnancy hormones, a growing bump, a changed centre of gravity and the sometimes daunting prospect of birth and motherhood can all have an impact on your wellbeing.

Chiropractic care in pregnancy uses modified treatment techniques to accommodate your growing bump. I’m certified in the Webster Technique, a particular adjustment that improves your pelvic alignment for a more comfortable pregnancy and easier birth.

Pregnancy chiropractic can help you to feel more comfortable in your changing body by relieving:

  • Hip pain
  • Pelvis pain
  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Nerve-related pain.

Seeing a chiropractor while pregnant may also help to improve your posture and prepare you for a healthy, active birth.

And there’s nothing quite so soothing as someone tending to your aches and pains each week. Every mum-to-be needs that!

Postnatal Chiropractic Care

Congratulations on your baby’s arrival!

Your body has just been through an immense experience in delivering your baby. And the changes are still happening as you recover from birth, start breastfeeding and cope with disrupted sleep.

Postnatal chiropractic care supports you through your fourth trimester, those critical months after your baby’s birth when you’re adjusting to a new way of life with ongoing physical changes.

You still have high levels of the relaxing hormone in your body, especially if you’re breastfeeding. That may cause ongoing instability in your spine, pelvis and other joints.

If your birth was a caesarean section then I have a Caesarean Recovery Program where you will learn about scar management and gentle exercises appropriate for your stage of healing.

All postnatal patients will take part in the Postnatal Rehab Program which covers

  • pelvic floor exercises,
  • assesses your diastasis rectus,
  • pilates series and
  • access to mums & bubs yoga videos in the membership portal.
A Postnatal chiropractic care visit can help you to:
  • Recover from birth
  • Align your spine and pelvis to improve your posture and comfort
  • Relieve joint pain
  • Improve your flexibility and mobility.
  • Manage scar healing if you birthed via caesarean section
